Privacy Policy — The Parcha Co
Last updated: September 16, 2026
This page explains what information we collect when you visit or buy from us, what we do with it, and what you can ask us to do about it. We've written it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate. If anything here is unclear, email hello@theparcha.co and a person will answer you.
The short version
- We collect what we need to take your order and send it to you.
- We don't sell your personal information for money.
- Our store runs on Shopify, and Shopify uses data across the stores on its platform to catch fraud and to help small shops reach the right people. Some of your activity here feeds that. You can switch that off for yourself in one click — the link is below, and it doesn't affect your order.
- Your email address is used for order updates, and for our own emails if you asked for them. One click to leave that list, any time.
- You can ask us what we hold on you, correct it, or delete it. Just email us.
What we collect
When you buy something: your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and phone number if you give us one. Your order details — what you bought, in what size.
We never see your card number. Payment is handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation that you paid and the last four digits. That's all that reaches us.
When you join our email list: your email address, and your name if you give it.
When you email us: whatever you write, so we can answer you and keep a record of the conversation.
When you visit the site: standard information collected automatically — your IP address, browser and device type, which pages you looked at, and what you added to your cart. This is how any online store works, and it's what tells us when something is broken.
What we use it for
- To take and fulfil your order — process payment, print your item, ship it, send tracking, and sort it out if something goes wrong.
- To send you email, if you asked for it. New drops, new phrases, occasional stories. Nothing else.
- To keep the store working and honest — spot fraudulent orders, fix broken pages, and understand which products people actually look at.
- To show you things you might want, including advertising for our products on other websites, based on what you looked at here.
- To follow the law — keep tax and transaction records, and respond if we're legally required to.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that make the store run, and only the piece each one needs:
- Shopify, which hosts the store and processes payments
- Our printing and shipping partner, which receives your name and shipping address so it can make your item and post it to you
- Our email provider, which receives your email address so we can send you email
- Shipping carriers, which receive your address so they can deliver
- Advertising and analytics partners, which help us understand how the store is used and show our products to people likely to want them
Each of these is bound to use your information only to do that job. If we're ever legally required to disclose information, or if the business is sold or merged, we'll comply with the law and tell you where we're required to.
Shopify, and how data works across the platform
This is the part most privacy policies bury, so we'll be direct about it.
Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify does more than keep the website online — it uses what it learns across the many stores on its platform to run features that protect and improve them. That means catching fraudulent orders before they're charged to a real person's card, and helping small shops like ours reach people likely to want what we make.
It works in both directions. Some of what you do in our store contributes to that. Some of what Shopify has learned elsewhere helps us. Shopify is responsible for this part of the processing, including for handling your requests about it. You can read exactly what it does in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy, and exercise your rights directly through the Shopify Privacy Portal.
You can turn this off for yourself at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out of your information being "sold" or "shared" for targeted advertising, as those terms are defined by your state's privacy law. Opt out here. It takes one click, it's free, and it has no effect on your order, your account, or how we treat you.
Your information may be stored or processed in countries other than the one you live in. Where the law requires a specific safeguard for moving it out of your region, we use one.
Your choices
Email. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, you're out, and we won't email you again except about an order you've actually placed.
Your information. You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email hello@theparcha.co and we'll do it. We may need to confirm it's really you first. We will never treat you differently for asking.
Browser signals. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honour it automatically as an opt-out for that browser and device. We don't act on other "Do Not Track" signals, because there's no agreed standard for what they mean.
Cookies. We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember you between pages, and see which pages are used. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, though parts of the store will stop working if you do.
Children
This store isn't intended for children, and we don't knowingly collect information about anyone under 16. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.
Keeping your information safe, and for how long
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website can promise perfect security, and information sent over the internet is never completely private. Please don't email us anything sensitive or confidential.
We keep order information for as long as we need it to run the business and meet our tax and legal obligations. If you ask us to delete your information and we're not legally required to keep it, we will.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email us first — we'd rather fix it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell you directly.
